Badger boys dominated the NYS Swimming Championships this past weekend at Webster High School in Rochester, NY.

The story of the meet was Fordham Prep’s dominance. Led by Badger seniors Patrick Conaton, Declan Kennon, Matthew Lantin, Richard Mannix and Oliver Patrouch, Fordham won the championship again, scoring 316 points, outscoring the second place team by 173 points. Badger’s Eric Wang led Francis Lewis High School to a 9th place finish. Badger swimmers were represented in 10 out of the 11 swimming events at the championship. Fordham broke two state records in the 200FR relay (1:23.84) and the 400FR (3:04.88) relay. Badger swimmers Patrick Conaton, Oliver Patrouch and Richard Mannix made up three of the four legs of the 200FR relay, and the 400FR relay consisted of Patrick Conaton, Oliver Patrouch, Declan Kennon and Richard Mannix. In addition to breaking state records, both relays qualified for Automatic All-American recognition. Fordham also placed third in the 200 medley relay.

Badger Swimmers from the State Champion Fordham Prep Rams:

Patrick Conaton placed first in the 100BK with a meet record setting, Automatic All-American time of 48.53, and he placed second in the 100FR with an Automatic All-American time of 45.16.

Jack Collins placed tenth in the 500FR with a time of 4:38.94.

Declan Kennon placed fourth in the 200IM with an All-American Consideration time of 1:52.49, and he placed sixth in the 100BK with a time of 51.77.

Spencer Lafata placed fourth in the 500FR with an All-American Consideration time of 4:32.51.

Matt Lantin placed eighth in the 500FR with a time of 4:42.16, and he placed tenth in the 200FR with a time of 1:43.39.

Richard Mannix placed third in the 500FR with an Automatic All-American time of 4:26.55, and he placed fourth in the 200FR with an All-American Consideration time of 1:40.62.

Oliver Patrouch placed fourth in the 100FLY with an All-American Consideration time of 50.43, and he placed eighth in the 50FR with a time of 21.50.

Badger Swimmers from Section 1 High Schools:

David Stewart (NRHS) placed second in the 100FLY with an Automatic All-American time of 49.37, and he placed sixth in the 200FR with time of 1:42.58

Liam Egan (Rye) placed ninth in the 100FR with a time of 46.32m and he placed fifteenth in the 200IM with a time of 1:55.99.

Reo Mukudai (Keio) placed fourteenth in the 50FR with a time of 21.83.

Dan Needham (Scarsdale) placed thirteenth in the 500FR with a time of 4:43.30.

Badger PSAL Swimmers:

Eric Wang (Francis Lewis HS) placed eighth in the 100FLY with a time of 51.35.
