Badger swimmer and Yale sophmore had an amazing meet this weekend at the Harvard, Yale Princeton tri-meet.

According to Yale’s prestosports.com, Brian Hogan “burst onto the national swimming scene with the fourth fastest 1650-yard freestyle race in the NCAA this season.” During the race, “it became clear that Hogan was in the middle of a historic race. Loud applause followed the display of his 50-yard splits on the scoreboard (all of them were under 28 seconds). On his final lap he sprinted into touchpad and stopped the clock at 14:53:36, 52:44 faster than his seeded time.

He beats the Yale record by 13.43 and the Kiphuth Pool record nearly by as much.

Only three NCAA swimmers have recorded a faster time this season, according to collegeswimming.com.”

Brian Hogan also won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:35:72 which shattered a 12 year old school record.
